Are hard cases better for an oud?
« on: April 13, 2015, 04:52:37 AM »
I would like a professional opinion on this: are hard cases a better choice for an oud? I don't have a hard case, I have a soft case, but I was wondering if I should maybe get a hard oud case? What do you think?

Ouds are the real ancestors of modern guitars!

Personally, I don't think this makes any difference, hard or soft, they're all the same, what's important is that they have at least one good protective layer! As far as which one should you choose, I think it's a personal choice more than anything else.

Itís common sense only that cases makes absolutely no difference, it does not matter if we are using hard case or not because all are same like Spinny said, but one thing is true that when we are going outside the country then itís better to have hard case, it can save it from any kind of damage.

In case of security of our instrument itís better to have a stronger (harder) case as that just provides extra layer of protection , but itís not really necessary especially if you are having it as personal use as in that case itís already safe, but for people who travel a lot itís good to have strong cases.
