Controlling the sympathetic resonance
« on: April 14, 2015, 04:25:52 AM »
Is it possible to control the sympathetic resonance of an oud while playing? I'm not talking about muting the strings, but about the air resonance, is there a way to control this while playing the oud?

:) :P :D

Tough challenge, but have you tried blocking part of the hole with pieces of card, in order to shift the resonance? Try it, it just might work! And of course, let us know!

@Ayla, why would you want to control the sympathetic resonance, it gives the sound a whole lot of charm! I personally love it, it's like the oud sings along with you!
