Title: How to switch from Ajam to Saba and back?
Post by: Ron99 on April 03, 2015, 05:52:09 AM
This is a question for all you oud experts: at what note should I from Ajam to Saba and then back to Ajam? I'm still learning, so I thought I'd just ask here! Maybe someone can help me out..

Well, I don't know if this can be done directly, but you would have to first shift to Zanjaran and only then, switch to Saba. It's not very complicated, you'll get the hang of it real quick! It goes like this:

1. F G A Bb C D E F (original ajam)

2. F G A Bb C Db E F (Zanjaran: Hijaz on the C note)

3. F G A B$ C Db E F (Saba on the A note)

I hope I made myself clear!

Molly is correct. Just try playing them and experience with 'the switch', and using the Zanjaran in the middle is  much better idea than a direct switch.
