Hello Mafra and welcome to the forum!!  I do not play the Ney but it is on my list of instruments to start.  I do play the shakuhachi, xiao, and various Native American style rim blown flutes so I am aware of the rim blown style.  I always wondered if the end cap on Ney flutes made it easier or more difficult to play in regards to rim blown style.
