Title: The Best Ney Ever...
Post by: Administrator on June 24, 2015, 12:25:08 PM
Dear friends, we have built for you some amazing neys and Kawalas made of special plastic. We will add them soon to our website. The advantages of the plastic neys are that they are not required a complicated maintenance and the sound is very accurate and warm. We will upload some new videos & sound samples very soon.

Thanks

P.S
If you want to know how to play the ney , you should try our ney tutorial: http://www.arabinstruments.com/learn-ney

This is exciting news, I can't wait to buy a nay from you :)

Will you be adding more traditional cane nays (hopefully Re) to the website at the same time you add the plastic ones?

Dear hylian_shieldmaiden

We should get our reed neys in around 4 weeks and not with the plastic batch.

My blue nay just came in the mail this morning, I'm so excited! The paint job on it is gorgeous. I've been trying to learn how to play it almost all day, can't wait until I master it. My mouth is so tired, but I've gotten a bunch of squeaks out of it so far. I won't give up :)

Do you have any tips for playing in different octaves? I'm getting fairly comfortable now at playing in the octave where the lowest note is C5 (according to my tuner) when all the holes are closed, but I'm not sure how to switch to a different octave. Also, do you know of where I can find an accurate finger chart for a dokah nay to see how to play all the notes? Thanks for your help :)
