When did you first hear the ney or kawala sound?
« on: March 13, 2015, 09:09:57 AM »
Just wondering, where did everyone hear these instruments for the very first time? :)
I have actually stumbled upon some videos of a guy playing the ney by accident! I don't even remember what I was looking for at the time, I just know I heard the sound and I just loved this instrument!

Music is what feeds the soul!

It wasn't by accident for me :)
I've always been fascinated by this particular type of music, ever since I was a little boy, so naturally I looked up a lot of information about these type of  instruments!

For me it was all in family, as my Father is really passionate about these instruments, so every sat/sun I use to learn, it was at very young age that I started getting fascinated by it and now we both play it together and I really enjoy it!

I heard Kawala sound in my college concert, it was because we all had different stuff given to play, i got Darbuka (my group) while there were almost every instrument there and since then my interest in these started and I really love it.
