Does anyone also love the sintir?
« on: March 23, 2015, 12:23:04 PM »
I know it's not a guitar, it's more like a bass, but nevertheless it sounds great!
I mean, just listen:

So, does anyone else think this sounds great? I did find another video like his one, but it's not as good, this one's better, it captures the essence of the sound, so to speak.

This video is too short, it doesn't capture any essence,  IMO :D LOL
By the way, this instrument is also called a Guembri, just in case someone wonders what this is :) It has a name in Arab too but I have no idea how to spell it :D
:) Dan :)

This is the first time I'm hearing about the sintir, to be honest. Sounds interesting. Not really similar to a bass, but I don't know what to compare it to either :D

ok, I found this accurate explanation of what a sintir really is, for everyone who is curious about it: it is a three stringed skin-covered bass plucked lute. Go to wikipedia for more details :)
Doing my best, so that I can't blame myself for anything.
