Doumbek, Darbuka Lovers / What type of Doumbek do you prefer?
« on: June 19, 2015, 10:40:24 AM »
Hello Friends,

This is Ruhit from India. Here I would like to share my feelings. I personally prefer the ceramic Doumbek. I think the metal instrument's shells resonate. It can also have some unwanted overtones in some situations. I also think the ceramic instrument is drier, more controlled sounding each.

However, I love them all and each type of Doumbek has its own unique qualities; it's all good. It depends upon to people. But I really love ceramic Doumbek as well.

Thanks to All

Buy & Sell Darbuka / Buying a Doumbek making decision........
« on: June 19, 2015, 10:30:41 AM »
Recently, I want to buy a Doumbek. But I cannot make my decision to buy these because I don’t know so much   about the Doumbek.

However, my teacher told me that narrow neck on the Doumbek is more pronounced. It sounds good to use to make a decision when you don't know what to choose. So take a decision before buying these.

Have a good day guys………… :) :) :)
