Oud Lovers / Need info for oud in Morocco
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:37:09 AM »
Hi all,
I am going to Morocco at the end of February for a couple of weeks.I'll do mainly Marrakesh, Essaouira and Casablanca. I have few to know. Does anybody knows Khaled Belhaiba? I wrote him several times on facebook and through his website but no answer at all.
Any good oud shops and\or luthiers? Is there any oud player keen on meeting up with me?
Is there any good teacher I can take some lessons from? Any place where I can see some concerts?

Oud Lovers / Feel "Oud" from the heart!
« on: December 31, 2015, 10:25:53 AM »
Sometimes I have an unexpected feeling about Oud. When you type the word “Oud” on Google search box, it gives you a variety of Ouds out there. At Oud for Guitarists, I am not talking about a type of wood or perfume made from it, but I am talking about Oud the musical instrument. It is an ancient musical instrument from the Middle East, which has been very popular in the area and called the King of Instruments. It has been played by the greatest musicians in Middle Eastern history for centuries.

It is finding its way over to Western countries in the last decades, and more and more musicians are picking up this instrument, for its unique sounds and unlimited possibilities of creating new musical fusion with it.
