Darbuka Teachers & Lessons / Re: Where to find a good teacher?

You will rarely find a teacher instead check Google for help or YouTube, itís the best place from where you will be able to learn A to Z and I donít think there is anything which you canít learn from YouTube, itís definitely the best place for anyone to learn from.

Itís a question that even I am confused with, at the moment I am looking to buy Pearl Darbuka, I feel itís just perfect for a beginner like me, so maybe you can try that too, but remember do it only if you feel comfortable with it.

Passion in my view can make us do anything, so even with been not having salary or any fixed amount, it is still a very passionate work for many, I want to be a Darbuka player, but I am not so passionate to be working without a proper salary, as life goes not go ahead without income.

Frankly speaking I have no clue really, as I never ask my provider about skin and I got what he showed me, so there was never any talk about skin. I donít think it even makes a difference to sound, so thatís why I donít give it too much attention.

I believe that a normal size is good enough which is usually 23-25 inch, itís very tough to manage anything over size, itís okay for a group, but if we are alone players then itís better to use the size that I mention above, itís more comfortable.

There is really no certainty as how long it can take, it is often taking longer if the guy is professional because building a good Darbuka take time, but now a days itís done way too quickly which is why we see quality getting so much low, so I believe itís better to wait then compromise on quality.

Doumbek, Darbuka Lovers / Re: Darbuka Band - Will you take a part?
« on: May 08, 2015, 03:46:15 PM »
In college we group of friends had our own Darbuka band group, but it was just to that level after that we all started concentrating on different things. I feel the first thing is been close because unknown people can never create that magic which is needed.
